Department of Religious Studies

Religious studies, alternately known as the study of religion, is an academic field devoted to research into religious beliefs, behaviors, and institutions. It describes, compares, interprets, and explains religion, emphasizing systematic, historically based, and cross-cultural perspectives. Department of Religious Studies came into existence as an independent department in 1996. Prof. Paramjit Kaur, Associate Professor, the faculty member of the department is motivated with a strong commitment to teach the students and fully able to meet their academic and professional requirements. There are nearly 150 students at undergraduate level.

Besides this, the Department constantly organising various Seminars, debate, declamation, Conferences and special lectures on religious studies to emphasize skills & knowledge that will to promote the individual sense of students to value high ethical standards. The faculty of the department works hard to offer quality education to the students and
to assist them in discovering their leadership qualities and to attain their
educational goals.
